FOSE 2009 – EM7 Preview
March 6th, 2009 by Valerie Barber
We’ve been busy putting the finishing touches on our FOSE planning. Show dates are March 10 – 12 at the Washington Convention Center. If you’re in the local area, we hope you’ll come down and visit us in Booth 2531. Both government and non-government industry types can register for a free expo pass – our priority code VEN179 is already filled in if you use the link.
We really like this year’s theme “Federal Power Meets Future Power” because it really reflects the sentiment of the times as the Obama administration works to bring major changes that are likely to affect all aspects of how the government uses IT.
We’ll be making some product news ourselves at FOSE. If you attend, you’ll be among the first to get a sneak peek at our new EM7 G3 product line that provides the required scalability, automation, security and high availability features out-of-the-box for the advanced management needs of dynamic infrastructure – for internal enterprise resources, private clouds or public clouds.
We’re also conducting our 3rd annual Federal IT Trends Survey to see how agencies are feeling and responding to some of the new technologies and government IT initiatives that are probably coming. There’s no doubt this is a time of change – from the new administration (and top-level management across almost all agencies) to the economic crisis that you have only to watch CNBC for a few minutes to be depressed about. We’ll be surveying attendees on what the change in administration means for government IT operations, what IT projects they’re actually spending money and time against and how the economic woes will be affecting IT budgets. Stay tuned for more posts!
We’ll be blogging from some of the keynotes and conference sessions that we think are especially relevant, like cloud computing, securing virtualization and the next generation of the Internet – covering of course IPv6. (Did we mention that’s supported in EM7 G3?) We hope to meet you at the show. If you can’t make it, be sure to check here for daily updates.
