Further Musings on InteropNet
April 8th, 2008 by Louis DiMeglio
I am writing this while sitting aboard a flight to San Francisco. (Pretend I was the woman pictured on the right.) I’m on my way to assist with our preparations for the ScienceLogic InteropNet efforts at the San Francisco Hot Stage.
While Mike, who’s already been out there working for a week on monitoring, continues those efforts, I’ll be working on the help desk component. This should be an interesting implementation as I think there are still a number of decisions as to how ticketing will work. Part of my role will be to push decisions so that the final configuration of the EM7 ticketing system can be in place by Wednesday. I have a feeling this may end up being a bit of a cat herding exercise, but we’ll see for sure.
As this is the last week for our work, before everything gets packed up and trucked to Vegas, we’re working hard to try and get everything completed and ready for the show. Not to air dirty laundry, but the team working on this is getting nervous as we get closer and closer to time being up. They worry we won’t be able to get everything done. I actually think it’s healthy, keeps people working hard, and keeps us focused on our goal to provide the best experience the show has ever had.
I’ll add another post on my way back (or perhaps after, since it’s a red-eye) and update everyone on how things went, and how close we are to being ready.
