This year at HostingCon, we conducted a survey asking hosting service providers to give use feedback on some of the business challenges they face. We asked them about their strengths and their biggest challenges. What we found was that hosters inherently know that racing to last place is a losing proposition with nearly 50% of the respondents stating “price wars” as the greatest threat to their businesses. More importantly, smart hosters know they have to fight against industry-wide pressure to compete on price by providing value-added services such as proactive management and support to help differentiate themselves and grow their businesses.
