InteropNet 2009 – Here We Go Again
December 17th, 2008 by Julia Lim
Just got the happy news ScienceLogic was selected again as Official Network Provider for InteropNet 2009 – in the categories of Network Monitoring and Helpdesk. Hurrah! (img from z.about.com)
Amidst the jumping up and down and high-fives, I did notice the thoughtful looks on some of the faces. Yes, InteropNet is a lot of work – how could it not be when basically we’re trying to pull together an enterprise-class network literally from the ground up, from cabling all the way to deploying the NMS and helpdesk in just a few weeks?
But it’s also a ton of fun. Just one of the things we loved best about the experience last year is the “summer-camp” type of bonding that goes on between the vendors, the Interop/InteropNet folk and the InteropNet volunteers. More than spending pretty much all our waking hours together, the experience of driving together towards the common goals of interoperability, and 100% uptime breaks down silos and artificial vendor (and sometimes “competitor”) barriers that stand in the way of getting things done. Sound familiar?
Well, it’s an early Christmas present for ScienceLogic – may all your network deployments and your holiday presents be as delightful too!
