InteropNet – Hot, Hot, Hot
April 25th, 2008 by Julia Lim
InteropNet Hot Stage is happening right now in Vegas. And it is literally hot – if you ask Louis it’s anywhere from 85 to 95 degrees, depends on how he’s feeling – because the show’s air conditioning doesn’t kick in until closer to the show. Good thing they get a good look at Mandalay Bay’s lovely pool area every time they walk the quarter mile to and from the hotel and convention center.
It sounds like a lot of work but lots of fun – from toes in danger of being lopped off to the first day’s stellar lunch of short ribs in a porcini mushroom sauce and broccolini sautéed in red pepper and garlic.
Here’s Tim doing some on-the-fly advertising in the background while Michael Wilde of Splunk broadcasts live from the InteropNet NOC. Later in the day, talk shifted to how hot Starbuck is in the new Battlestar Galactica. Personally, I still like Dirk Benedict from the old series better; he was the ultimate charming rogue, a precursor to Han Solo with ultimately a far sadder ending to his story line. And now I’ve just dated myself.
Anyway, I’m heading out on Sunday to join in the fun. I can’t wait to see how it all comes together. We’ll be liveblogging from the show so check it out if you’re interested.
Less than a week to go…

We also chatted about Rochester, NY. Two of us are alumni from RIT and we spent time debating the finer points of the garbage plate. You don’t know what a garbage plate is? You HAVE to try it, it is the ultimate hangover food, which is ironic since there are none to be found here in Vegas.
Stay tuned, we are having a blast and can’t wait to meet everyone here. Stop by the NOC and say Hi to the silo crew!
