It’s a Great Day at ScienceLogic

April 6th, 2010 by

We are so excited to announce that we have raised $15M in growth equity funds from New Enterprise Associates (NEA).

We think that this couldn’t have come at a better time, when cloud computing is at the beginning of a massive disruption in the IT marketplace; the need has never been greater for a comprehensive solution that can simplify monitoring of datacenter and cloud assets in a single integrated solution. Through our seven years of organic growth, we have proven time and again that doing things the right way will always be rewarding. We’re proud of our “bootstrap” legacy and of the hard work and dedication of our staff and our customers.

The recent acquisition of Nimsoft by CA provides us the perfect opportunity to be aggressive in the cloud monitoring space. We really are the “last man standing” when it comes to a viable alternative to the Big 4. And while Nimsoft plays in the midmarket space when it comes to cloud monitoring, we believe the real and immediate opportunity is with large service providers and enterprises – who will be the first to transform their operations to private and hybrid clouds and need a scalable proven solution like our award-winning EM7 G3.

Overall, we’re thrilled to be working with NEA, one of the most respected venture capital firms in the world. Their track record is impeccable, and besides that, they really understand our market and products and share our passion. Jon Sakoda, partner at NEA, had this to say about why they chose to invest in ScienceLogic:

The shift from client-server to cloud computing creates massive opportunity in the IT management marketplace. There will be new winners who can move fast and provide the best technologies to help enterprises tackle these new challenges. We believe ScienceLogic is positioned to be a leader in this space, cutting through the cloud hype with a proven solution designed from the ground-up to manage private cloud and hybrid environments.

A quote from my video clip below:

We’ve spent the last 7 years perfecting a model that was perfectly built for the cloud. We didn’t build it for the cloud – the cloud came, but it just ended up being a perfect fit for what our product could to help service providers and enterprises manage the extended hybrid cloud, private cloud, public cloud and distributed enterprise assets around the world.
