Interop has come and gone and we’re looking forward to sharing some interesting polls and stats we have uncovered. Network Instruments and NetQoS also conducted a poll on virtualization at Interop, which found that 80% of attendees are either using virtualization now or planning to use virtualization in 12 months.
Speaking of numbers, a survey from InformationWeek shows that virtualization is a top monitoring challenge.
TheTechStop shares some behind-the-scenes pictures from InteropNet. Personally, we’re just glad that someone else enjoys taking such geek-friendly pictures.
The Daily Network Monitor shares five quick and easy things to look at when considering monitoring solutions.
Interop-eration from Network Performance Daily shows pictures of a forklift knocking out McAfee’s booth. I remember Louis telling me about this at the show. They managed to bang the sign back together in time but what a nightmare.
An open source panel received some heckling and even had an audience member walk out during Interop. A guy who is really passionate about network monitoring or someone having a bad day? Actually, we thought it was pretty cool that he spoke up and got his voice heard.
Network World discusses Microsoft’s infrastructure management aspirations and plans to become a cross-platform systems management vendor to compete with the likes of BMC, CA, HP and IBM. The Big 5? Or maybe BMC gets bumped out entirely, finally? Does anyone believe Microsoft when it comes to interoperability though?
