Network Fuel

From InteropNet Hot Stage in San Francisco
In a space where the posters read “Born to Network” and the t-shirts make connections between duct tape and The Force, one might wonder what fuels the work that’s occurring.
Well, if you take a look at the pictures, you’ll discover it’s a heady mix of sugar, alcohol and candy. In reality, while those do provide the physical fuel, it’s really the desire of each vendor to show off their technology (and a little desire to show how much better they are than everyone else) that drives things. ![]()
It’s been an interesting day here. We started yesterday by simulating power failures (to be sure things kept running) and ended it by simulating a total catastrophe that took the entire network down (so we could see how long it would take to get everything back up).
Today is a wrap-up day to configure devices and systems and then everything starts to get crated for shipping. By Friday night everything will be crated and ready to load in a truck, and a very interesting two weeks will have come to a close.
3 weeks to Interop!
